AC Milan Boss Amorim Ends Chukwueze Exit Speculation Ahead of New Season

Sports

AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim has ended speculation surrounding Samuel Chukwueze’s future, confirming that the Nigerian winger will remain at the Serie A club for the 2026/27 season.

The announcement comes after weeks of uncertainty following Chukwueze’s loan spell in the Premier League and reports linking him with a move away from the San Siro.

Fulham Declined Permanent Move

Chukwueze spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Fulham, where he made 26 appearances in all competitions.

During his spell in England, the Super Eagles winger contributed three goals and four assists, helping the London club with his pace and attacking creativity.

Despite those performances, Fulham reportedly opted against making the move permanent after AC Milan maintained their €24 million valuation of the player.

Amorim Backs Nigerian Winger

Speaking ahead of the new season, Amorim dismissed suggestions that Chukwueze could leave the club this summer.

The Portuguese coach described the winger as a valuable member of his squad, highlighting his ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.

Amorim also said Chukwueze’s versatility provides tactical flexibility, allowing AC Milan to adopt different attacking systems when needed.

Important Role Next Season

The Milan manager stressed that players with Chukwueze’s qualities remain difficult to find in modern football.

According to him, the Nigerian international gives the team an extra dimension in attack and will be part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.

His comments effectively end speculation over a possible transfer, despite previous reports linking the winger with clubs in Turkey.

Looking to Revive His Milan Career

After returning from his loan spell, Chukwueze now has another opportunity to establish himself at AC Milan.

The former Villarreal star joined the Italian giants in 2023 and will be hoping to secure regular playing time under Amorim as the club prepares for another Serie A campaign.

With the manager publicly expressing confidence in him, the Nigerian winger enters the new season with renewed backing from the club’s coaching staff.
