Nigerian TikToker and livestream personality Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has shared details of his time in police custody, describing the experience as one of the most difficult moments of his life.

The 21-year-old content creator said he spent nearly four days in detention, during which he claimed he neither bathed nor ate for most of the period.

Peller Describes Time in Detention

Speaking after regaining his freedom, Peller took to his Snapchat account to recount what he experienced while in custody.

According to him, the experience left him physically exhausted and emotionally shaken.

He also revealed that fellow inmates recognised him and jokingly referred to him as “001” during his stay.

Peller further claimed that he went for several days without food and was unable to bathe while detained.

Arrest Followed Traffic-Related Incident

Peller was arrested on Friday in the Lekki area of Lagos following an encounter with police officers.

The incident reportedly involved a vehicle with tinted windows and no registration plate.

Shortly after his arrest, a video circulated online showing the influencer accusing officers of harassment and alleging that they pointed a firearm at him during the arrest.

Those allegations have not been independently verified by the police.

Court Grants Bail

The TikToker was later arraigned before a Lagos Magistrates’ Court alongside Bello Oladipo.

The defendants faced charges bordering on alleged obstruction of police officers, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The court subsequently granted Peller bail in the sum of ₦500,000, bringing his detention to an end.

Says Experience Changed His Perspective

Reflecting on the incident, Peller said the experience had made him more careful about his actions going forward.

He explained that his immediate focus is now on his upcoming wedding and avoiding situations that could lead to further legal trouble.

The influencer’s comments have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with supporters expressing relief over his release while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
