Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has alleged that supporters of President Bola Tinubu organised counter-protests during the recent #EndInsecurity demonstrations held across the country.
The music star made the claim while reflecting on the nationwide protests that took place on June 12, Nigeria’s Democracy Day, as citizens called attention to rising insecurity, kidnappings and violent attacks in several communities.
Nationwide Demonstrations Highlight Security Concerns
The #EndInsecurity protests were organised in multiple states following growing public concern over persistent attacks by armed groups, mass abductions and killings reported in different parts of the country.
Several prominent figures joined the demonstrations, including human rights lawyer Femi Falana, activist Omoyele Sowore and Falz himself.
