Nigerian gospel musician Lekan Remilekun has shared the emotional story of his father, revealing that the veteran gospel singer has been missing for 26 years.
The singer made the disclosure during an interview on the Talk to B podcast, where he reflected on the painful experience that has continued to affect his family for more than two decades.
Father Disappeared During Missionary Trip
According to Remilekun, his father, renowned gospel musician Remilekun Amos, disappeared in November 2000 after travelling to Akure, Ondo State, for a ministerial engagement.
He said the trip was expected to be a routine gospel ministration, but his father never returned home.
Despite years of searching and waiting, the family has remained without answers regarding his whereabouts.
Singer Speaks About the Pain
Speaking during the interview, the gospel artiste described the experience as one of the greatest emotional burdens his family has carried.
He referenced a Yoruba proverb which suggests that the uncertainty of a missing loved one can be more painful than mourning someone who has died.
According to him, the absence of closure has made the loss especially difficult to bear.

Remilekun also revealed that the passage of time has brought new emotional challenges.
He said his own children have begun asking questions about their grandfather, forcing him to revisit painful memories that have remained unresolved for over two decades.
